Chapter One

It is becoming harder and harder to remember who it is I am supposed to be. I thought I had a good grasp on the person I was but I realized after my son grew up and moved out that I had been defining myself by my role as his mom and my husband's wife. It was a real life changing moment and I was not sure which direction it was going to take.

I decided that it was time to get back into the work force and got a job in the sales department of a telecommunications company. When I went in for the interview, I was told that I wa highly qualified for the job and would move up rather quickly in the company and that things happen when they happen for a reason, you know, right place at the right time. Well, what I was totally unprepared for was the rude awakening that I got as a result of taking that position that not only was I in the wrong place at the wrong time, I realized that EVERYTHING about my life, personal and professional, needed overhauling.
